Double-sided board
Double-sided boards have wiring on both sides. However, to use two-sided wires, there must be a proper circuit connection between the two sides. The "bridge" between these circuits is called the vias. The guide hole is a small hole filled or coated with metal on the PCB, which can be connected with the wires on both sides. Because the area of the double-sided board is twice larger than that of the single panel, and because the wiring can be interleaved (can be wound to the other side), it is more suitable for circuits more complex than the single panel. The double panel is the extension of a single panel, which means that the circuit of a single panel is not enough to turn to the opposite side. The important feature of the double panel is the through-hole. Simply speaking, it's double-sided. There are lines on both sides.
Advantages (compared with single panel):
convenient and simple wiring, less labor intensity of wiring, and shorter line length.
Operation steps of double panel design
1. Prepare the circuit schematic diagram
2. Create a new PCB file and load it into the component packaging Library
3. Planning circuit board
4. Load network tables and components
5. Automatic layout of components
6. Layout adjustment
7. Network density analysis
8. Routing rule settings
9. Autoroute
10. Manually adjust the wiring
11. Copper clad
Double panel wiring skills
· it is attractive to use an automatic router to design a PCB. In most cases, the action of automatic wiring on pure digital circuits (especially those with low-frequency signals and low density) will not be problematic. However, when trying to use the automatic routing tool provided by the routing software to route analog, mixed-signal, or high-speed circuits, some problems may occur and may cause extremely serious circuit performance problems.
There are many things to consider about wiring, but the more perplexing problem is the way of grounding. If the grounding path starts from the upper layer, the grounding of each device is connected to the ground wire through the cable on the layer. For each device in the lower layer, the through-hole on the right side of the circuit board is connected to the upper layer to form the grounding circuit. The immediate red flag that the user will see when checking the wiring mode indicates that there are multiple ground loops. In addition, the ground circuit of the lower layer is leveled. The influence of digital switching δ I / δ t on an analog circuit can be reduced.
However, it should be noted that the two double-layer boards have a ground at the lower layer of the circuit board. The purpose of this design is to enable engineers to quickly see the wiring when troubleshooting, which often appears on the demonstration and evaluation boards of device manufacturers. But the more typical way is to lay the ground on the top of the circuit board to reduce the electromagnetic interference (EMI).
