Standard Procedure of Assembly a Board

Step 1.Solder Printer 

Place a small dab of solder paste on each pad where a component will sit. To make this process faster, a stencil is laid over the board, and the paste is smeared over the stencil with a metal squeegee.

Step 2.Pick and Place Machine

Once the board has paste applied, we need to place the components on top(This can be done by hand or by a machine.). A pick and place (PNP) machine uses a vacuum to lift a component off of a piece of tape, rotate it to the right orientation, then place it on a circuit board that has been coated with solder paste. It takes a few hours to setup a machine to build the assembly, but once everything is running, it is very fast.

Step 3.Reflow Oven
After pick-and-place, the paste must be reflowed to create a solid solder joint. The boards are put on a conveyor belt that moves slowly through a large oven, exposing the boards to enough heat to melt the solder (about 250°C!). As the board moves through the oven, it encounters different temperature zones, allowing it to warm up and cool down at a controlled rate.
